Entertainment Shows: Pirates 4D
|
|
|
|
Since
visiting Alton Towers and seeing their 3d cinema, which made me, feel rather
sick, as it is abit old and dated, I didn’t have high hopes for the 4D
Pirates show at Thorpe Park. Well was I wrong, it’s a fantastic show with
really good effects plus its entertaining from when you queue with the
parrot telling jokes too everyone. Once
seated you can sit back and watch an extremely realistic film. Highly
recommended for all the family!!

Thorpe Park Rides: Ribena Rumba Rapids
|
|
|
|
The Ribena
Rumba Rapids was re-themed after being originally called Thunder River.
Thunder River was originally introduced in 1987 and was very spectacular in
its day. In 2001 extensive work was carried out to bring the water rapids
ride up to date, including extra sprayers, a water tower, and new Ribena
themed boats. The ride is very colourful with all the boats have different
colours. If you are unlucky and pick a bad seat you can get very wet, but
you never know which seat it is going to be till its to late. Its great in
the summer, but not too nice when its cold. One for all the family!!

Thorpe Park Rides: Storm In a Tea Cup
|
|
|
|
Storm in a Teacup was given a make
over for 2004, it still remains in Calypso Quay but themed around Amity
Cove, might be being moved to Amity Cove? This is still a classic Tea Cup
ride that always gets your stomach churning. Make sure you give it a good
spin and see if you can stand once the ride has come to a stop. You always
see a few come off looking abit green. Definitely a good fun ride!!

Thorpe Park Rides: Flying Fish
|
|
|
|
The Flying Fish used to be called
Space Station Zero, it was moved outdoors so Thorpe Park could develop the
building. The rollercoaster is powered by electricity, which means it is
not a true rollercoaster. This is for the younger thrill seekers that like
the rollercoaster thrill but are not yet tall enough or maybe brave enough
to ride some of the bigger roller coasters.
The Flying Fish is well themed, as
you fly over the water gardens giving you the feeling it’s a real flying
fish. The ride is only a short ride so you normally get 2 laps!! Fun for
all the family!!

Thorpe Park Rides: Nemesis Inferno
|
|
|
|
Nemesis Inferno is the second most
spectacular roller coaster at Thorpe Park. It is themed around a Volcano
that is ready to explode. It features a very compact layout with 4
inversions with one outside vertical loop and interlocking corkscrews. Even
the queue for the ride keeps you entertained, as it winds up the side of the
volcano. Once seated you are whisked away out of the station straight in
too a short drop then through a tunnel of mist and start the hill climb!

Thorpe Park Rides: Detonator
|
| Can your stomach take the FORCE!! |
|
|
If you like heights and can hold
your stomach in, this one is for you. The Detonator gives a whole new
experience to thrill seekers. There is a ring of seats around the tower,
each well spaced out giving riders a ton of arm room, which is a rarity on
rides these days. Once everyone is sitting comfortable
You are raised 100ft into the air
where you can see the whole park and people on the ground look like ants.
You sit there waiting for the ride to drop trying to anticipate when you
will get forced towards reaching a top speed of 47mph with a G force of
5.5G.
