Camelot is a medieval themed amusement park near Chorley in Lancashire. It is set in the beautiful Lancashire countryside, it is close to the Motorway and can be reached from J8 on the M61. The park is split into 5 different lands, so there is something for everyone:
These areas are: Land of the Brave - Full of extreme, thrill seeking rides including the newest ride – Knightmare (a 2 minute, 40mph plus speeds, half a mile long family rollercoaster). We had an exceptional time in this land, with plenty of high speed, thrills and spills. This area is targeted at teens and adults which suited us fine!
The second area is: Merlins Playland - This land is aimed at younger children, and there were some really great rides to keep our younger ones entertained. The rides in this area include: the junior jousting horses, human cannonball, junior galleon, clown around, sky divers. There was also an indoor playland where it is safe for kids to run, jump, swing and climb to their hearts content.
Next there is the King’s Realm: This is an excellent area for all of the family with the traditional Log flume (classic ride, brilliant fun) – children of all ages and adults alike love this ride.
Then there is: Knight’s Valley - Suitable for most of the family this land has the Galleon pirate ship and a big wheel, as well as the games square - a great place to try your luck a winning a stuffed teddy.
Finally there was Squire Bumpkins Friendly Park - this is a working working farm of Squire Bumpkin. With everything from shire horse to piglets to guinea pigs. We had a very pleasant, leisurely stroll around the farm.
I would recommend Camelot as a good family theme park, with plenty of kids of all ages.
